I am eager to share this with the students of Varsity Tutors. I with students from K-12 in the US, university students in China, mentally disabled adults in Harlem, and villagers in Mozambique. My favorite subject is biology and I also particularly enjoy writing, but I am happy to work on a variety of subjects with students.

I am an English and essay writing tutor available to help with English and language arts assignments, grammar, essay writing, literary analysis, and ACT and SAT writing and reading. In 2011, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College in English language and Literature. Before tutoring with Varsity Tutors, I tutored for another private company. I am an excellent tutor because I remember distinctly what it was like to be a student and can both empathize with their frustrations and help them to move past those blocks and toward a greater understanding of the material. I believe in my students and genuinely care about their success, which shows in my work. My patience and willingness to adjust my approach to help different learning styles has also been a useful asset in the past.

I am a recent graduate from Carnegie Mellon University with a dual degree in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. I have several years of tutoring experience in math, English, and broad sciences for kindergarten to high schoolers. Additionally, I have tutored several students for the SAT and ACT who have had favorable results. I truly enjoy working with school students to help them further their education and have made it a part of my routine since highschool.

I am a student at the Honors College of Rutgers - New Brunswick. I am currently working towards attaining a B.S. in Biochemistry, as well as a minor in Business and Administration. Over the last five years, I have reconciled my passion for teaching and my desire to interact with fellow students through tutoring. While I have tutored in a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about science, math, and English. Having taught many students, each of whom were different in terms of personality and learning style, I understand the importance of tailoring the lesson to the student's strengths. As a result, I work to create unique, individualized learning plans that engage the student and make learning feel like an opportunity, rather than a chore.

I am most comfortable teaching the SAT Reading/Writing and helping youths with their personal statements. Furthermore, my one-year experience as an AmeriCorps VISTA for PeaceJam Foundation – an award-winning organization that promotes service learning and peacekeeping through the combined efforts of Nobel Peace Laureates and young people – has instilled in me a deep reverence and hope for our youths today. I strongly believe in our youths’ limitless potential to pursue their dreams and become agents of positive social change and know I will be an excellent mentor/coach through their journey.

I'm a Sophomore enrolled in TCNJ's 7 Year Medical Program. I have prior experience in tutoring from helping previous clients within SAT Math. I am also available to tutor in SAT Prep and writing. I am very passionate about helping students of all backgrounds realize their dreams and become more passionate and confident about their academics. I am currently a second year student at Babson College, studying for a bachelors of science degree in business with a concentration in finance and entrepreneurship. I am a motivated student and have taken the highest level of courses possible in both high school and my first year of college. I am a very mathematically minded person so I have a deep understanding of numbers which will help me effectively teach math based courses. I believe that I will make a good tutor because I am able to effectively teach in a number of different styles including visual, verbal and by example so I can make sure that if a student does not understand something at first, they will at the end.

I am a freshman at Caltech majoring in Applied and Computational Mathematics. My favorite subject to tutor is math because I find it very rewarding to simplify complex topics to aid in understanding. I have lots of tutoring experience. In high school, I ran and taught an SAT prep class and was vice president of my school's NHS chapter where I ran our tutoring program, and I, myself, tutored. I also was a teaching assistant in the summer of 2020 for a class in discrete mathematics through a program called PACT (Program in Algorithmic and Combinatorial Thinking). I love learning and hope to make the process enjoyable for you!

I am a Biology geek, currently enrolled in NYU pursuing a Masters in Bioinformatics. I love all things science, and am building a career working in Big Data. I love working with kids of all ages, and evaluate each child to determine what resources work best.
