I am studying Chemical Biology in UC Berkeley. One of my passions is Organic Chemistry, which I used to loath but now enjoys after taking a year of it. Also, because I like helping others, I enjoys tutoring/teaching students who are struggling. During high school, I have tutored other high students after school on various subjects such as Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Latin. During college, I have held informal review sessions for General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry for my underclassmen. I tutored my roommate and one of my underclassmen in Organic Chemistry. Finally, with a Graduate Student TA, I co-taught a Organic Chemistry Lab class section , where I answer questions regarding lab material and demonstrate lab techniques. Currently, I am interested in tutoring Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, and Calculus

Cori is pursuing a Japanese minor at MIT, which means she's actively working through the grammar structures, kanji readings, and particle usage that trip up most learners. That proximity to the learning process gives her a practical sense of what sticks and what needs extra repetition.

I am also fluent (reading/listening/writing) in Cantonese and mandarin Chinese because of my upbringing. Half of my childhood education was received in Hong Kong and the other half was in Australia.

Learning Japanese means juggling three writing systems, unfamiliar sentence structures, and layers of politeness that don't exist in English. Aki breaks down hiragana, katakana, and basic kanji recognition alongside grammar patterns like particle usage and verb conjugation, building reading and conversational skills in parallel.

Triple-majoring in Japanese, linguistics, and computer science at UMass Amherst, Connor brings both fluency and analytical rigor to teaching the language. He unpacks grammar patterns like particle usage and verb conjugation groups by connecting them to the underlying logic of how Japanese sentences are built — making new structures easier to internalize and recall.

As a native Japanese speaker with over fifty years of fluency in reading, writing, and conversation, Hatsuki teaches the language the way it's actually used — from particle usage and keigo (honorific speech) to the nuances between hiragana, katakana, and kanji in everyday contexts. She currently lives in the U.S. with her family, giving her a natural understanding of where English speakers stumble with Japanese grammar and pronunciation.

Brian prepared for and took the SAT Subject Test in Japanese with Listening, which means he's worked through the grammar structures, kanji recognition, and listening comprehension challenges that define intermediate Japanese study. He approaches language learning with the same systematic thinking he applied to economics and CS at Caltech — breaking down sentence patterns and verb conjugations into logical rules rather than pure memorization.

I'm back at school at NYU, studying for a more general liberal arts degree.

I am open to tutoring in a broad range of subjects, including Algebra, Spanish I/II, ESL and Biology (SAT II, AP, and MCAT).

Though her degrees are in biology and science education, Sarah lists Japanese among her interests and brings a teacher's instinct for breaking complex systems into learnable parts — useful when students are wrestling with hiragana stroke order or the logic behind particle placement. Her 5.0 rating and four years of classroom teaching mean she knows how to pace a lesson and adjust when something isn't landing.

I'm currently a freshman at Brown University. I will most likely triple major in Ancient Greek & Sanskrit, Latin, and Japanese. I have had lots of experience tutoring those around me, such as friends, peers, and class mates, and I have always enjoyed seeing their progress as students. My tutoring experiences include after-school assistance to those struggling in Ancient Greek at my former high school, to helping Juniors and Sophomores help ace the SAT. My specialty is language and history, with an emphasis on Japanese, English, Latin, US history and World History, but I am also more than happy to help out those struggling with Algebra and Geometry. As someone who was once an ESL student himself, I believe that a good education rests upon the ability to comprehend, interact, and apply ideas. Besides academic matters, I am also fond of running, calisthenics, and Enka music.

I am a great tutor because not only are my fundamental verbal and quantitative skills strong, but I am able to communicate my reasoning and problem solving skills quickly and clearly.
