Kaitlyn: Alexandria tutor
Certified Tutor
As a rising senior at the University of Connecticut, I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Secondary History/Social Studies Education, along with degrees in History and Sociology. My enthusiasm for teaching subjects such as AP U.S. History, AP Psychology, and World History is matched by over four years of tutoring experience and two years of classroom instruction with diverse age groups, from preschool to college seniors. I am particularly passionate about building personal connections with my students, especially those with unique learning needs, as I believe that understanding their individual goals and challenges is crucial for fostering their confidence and love for learning. My teaching philosophy centers on creating engaging, interactive lessons that incorporate movement and student opinions, making the material relevant and enjoyable. I strive to empower my students to engage thoughtfully with the world around them, and I enjoy integrating creative elements, such as ArcGIS, into my lessons to enhance visual learning. Outside of tutoring, I am an avid explorer of historical topics and a passionate artist, which I believe enriches my teaching approach and allows me to connect more deeply with my students.

I enjoy writing, drawing, making animations, spending time outdoors, and participating in my local community! I run an international dance club, where we learn and perform dances from all over the world. I also help run a sports and games club. Most importantly, I love to meet new people and try new things!
