As a Certified Prosthetist-Orthotist and Senior Engineer with over a decade of experience in biomedical engineering and patient care, I bring both technical expertise and a passion for education to tutoring. I've developed innovative orthotic devices, published research on biomechanics, and presented at national and international conferences - experiences that allow me to bring real-world context and problem-solving skills into every session.
My teaching background is just as diverse. I've tutored university-level chemistry and engineering, as well as math and science for elementary through high school students. I've also taught elementary Faith Formation classes, which has helped me develop a warm, flexible teaching style grounded in patience and encouragement.
As a parent of three elementary school-aged children, I understand how to connect with learners at a variety of developmental stages. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three children. We love being outdoors—whether camping, hiking, biking, or just exploring nature together. I’m an avid reader with a passion for learning, especially in science, health, and education. Staying active in my community is important to me, and I value opportunities to apply my professional expertise in volunteer roles that make a meaningful impact. In my younger years, I played a variety of sports, and now I stay active by keeping up with my kids and coaching their sports teams. Volunteering as a coach has helped me develop strong leadership and teaching skills, which I love applying both on and off the field.
