I am currently attending Christopher Newport University where I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in sociology and a Master's in Education. I have had a lot of experience mentoring and tutoring elementary school level concepts throughout high school and my college career. I am very passionate about literacy and writing skills. When working with students I always make connections between what they are learning and what is occurring in their life. I have found that this connection makes the material more enticing and fun to learn. I believe that it is vital to be able to read and write proficiently as it is two major skills used everyday. My goal is for students to walk away from a session feeling empowered by what they know and how they are able to communicate their knowledge.
