Certified Tutor
I am a junior at Northwestern University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education and Social Policy with a concentration in Human Development and Psychological Services. I am also pursuing a minor in Music Technology.
I first began tutoring as a junior in high school. Starting out, my main subjects were Algebra II, Geometry, and Spanish for beginners. I then shifted my focus to standardized tests after finding personal success with the math section of the SAT and the Math Level 2 SAT subject test. I have since expanded and now also tutor for Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Statistics (6th through 12th grade).
I am passionate about helping students because I grew up hearing that there were two kinds of people: those who were good at math and those who simply weren't built for it. I don't believe this is true. I think everyone can be a "math person" with the right individualized approach, and I thoroughly enjoy the challenges and rewards of helping students become confident problem-solvers both inside the classroom and beyond!
Outside of tutoring and my own studies, I enjoy cooking, graphic design, college sports, and singing with my a cappella group. I also enjoy drawing and painting in my spare time.
