I was walking out of the Douglas County High School theater, one step closer to graduating. I had finished my last International Baccalaureate exam. I sat in my car feeling exhausted, relieved. Reflecting on the last two years, I recalled teaching my friends and myself IB history to supplement our teacher's shortcomings, lounging in the local cafe practicing talking about the environment in Spanish, and waking up early on Saturdays to make sure I finished my extended essay the milestones in time for the deadline. I remember hoping that all of the hard work would come to fruition in a meaningful way.
As an IB Diploma recipient, I can attest that valuing your education makes a positive difference not only in the number of opportunities available to you but also in your world view. I hope to be a positive influence for you like others have been for me.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree at Georgia College and State University. My majors are Liberal Studies with a European Concentration and a Spanish Language and Culture major. My experiences as a GCSU student has honed my communication skills. Not only can I help you learn to write essays that are appropriate for registers, but I can also help you speak, write, and read in Spanish and understand the nuances of English and Spanish literature. I can give you the tools to analyze historical events in a meaningful and memorable way. I will help you reach your goals by using similar tactics that I utilize in my personal study groups. We will establish your goal and identify what is separating you from your goal currently. Then, we will make a game plan to overcome or circumvent that separation. Finally, we will execute this plan. This simple process, along with my materials and guidance, is the key to your success. I cannot wait to see you succeed.
