Certified Tutor

I am a graduate student at Touro College and recently graduated from Stony Brook University for undergrad where I completed my BS in Biology and minor in English. I started working as a tutor during my senior year of high school and have worked with a variety of age groups, spanning elementary school students to high school students. My passion for teaching grew as I worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant for two biology lab courses as well as an organic chemistry lab course in college. From these experiences, I gained skills on how to work with college students and how to specifically tutor them. While my method of tutoring may shift a little among different age groups, my foundation remains the same. My goal is to make students feel confident and capable of completing their tasks. I feel it is my responsibility to make sure my students feel motivated, determined, and well equipped to tackle their assignments and assessments. My favorite subjects to teach are biology, math, and SHSAT prep. Although I am on the pre-med track and hope to go to medical school, I do have a passion for teaching and education, and I hope to go into academia in the future. In my spare time, I enjoy reading books, exploring the city, and taking boxing classes.
