After earning a B.S. in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Microbiology from Cornell University, I spent 2 years working in a laboratory at Columbia University doing infectious disease research. I'm now a second year MD/PhD student in NYC. I have three years of private tutoring experience, working primarily with high school students on mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics. I also have some experience tutoring undergraduates in introductory biology courses. In addition, I have served as a teaching assistant for college-level coursework as well as a tutor for elementary and middle school students. I have worked with students between the ages of 7 and 50 and have developed a flexible teaching style to fit my students' needs. I believe in helping students develop the skills they need to solve problems and master the material they are learning.
Before attending Cornell, I was a student at Brooklyn Technical High School. As a result, I have a lot of experience with standardized tests such as the SHSAT, SAT, and AP exams. I believe in not only helping students work through specific material, but helping them to develop strong study habits that will carry them through other coursework and testing as well.
In my spare time, I enjoy long distance running, visual arts, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
