The unique interaction between student and teacher is what makes tutoring such a rewarding experience for me. All students have the ability to grow and mature in their learning. What I do discover in the route to learning and discovery, students do have challenges in understanding the scope of assignments and ultimately subject areas. I try to connect the dots so to speak for students. I do a great deal of 'chunking' in my tutoring, breaking down the essentials of an assignment, building a foundational base of knowledge and then have the student scale that knowledge into subject matter mastery.

I have a wide ranging background and educational experience. I hold masters' degrees in communication and library science and doctorate in education. I also have baccalaureates in English and Religion. Writing is my strength and with that subject area mastery comes the ability to tutor on a host of topic areas as writing prevails across all majors, program of studies and subject areas.

Holding advanced degrees in communication, information science and education, I am a season critical thinker and communicator. The GRE is more about these skills, especially in the English and reading portions of the exam. I also understand the scientific method as an educational researcher. Most of the exam relies on inductive and deductive reasoning and I can provide accurate and sensible insight and lesson development for students wanting to acquire these crucial skills to be successful on the GRE exam.

I have been a writing instructor for over twenty years. My experiences have been with all levels of writing from grammar and sentence mechanics to paragraph development to essay creation. I am skilled proofreader, amassing over 30 years in this arena. I have successful written and defended a doctoral dissertation.
