Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, receiving my Masters in Sociology; I also work at Yale University as a research coordinator. Anything and everything academia has been a passion of mine since i first set forth on my journey to receive my first degree. Every class I took, whatever the subject, i set forth to learn as much as i could. I felt that every subject was interconnected, and i always found a way to find some connection back to Sociology and our understanding of the social world around us. Ever since finishing my masters, i have attained a deeper desire to share my passion with others, and to help them succeed in their studies. I have tutored for standardized exams and have lectured students in Bioethics and Sociology. I have also perfected my presentation skills both on the individual and group level through numerous conference presentations throughout the east coast. My teaching philosophy is very simple. I try to meet my students at the level that they are most comfortable in. I remain at that level until they are comfortable and then i push them a little harder until they are once again out of their comfort zone. I feel this technique is the best method of teaching students to become better writers, better test takers, and better critical thinkers. I am grateful for the countless professionals who pushed me to succeed and i hope to pass along this success to future generations of great thinkers.
