What is your teaching philosophy?
My strategy is to quickly identify the type of instruction and learning that works best for the student and to tailor content and test strategy to take advantage of those strengths.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a first session, I would prioritize the definition of the student's goals, their current academic standing, and their expectations of the tutoring engagement. After that, we would work together to develop a study outline and schedule based on those understandings.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I believe outlining strategies and processes is more effective in showing how a student can confidently approach any problem or study material.
