The student did really well. We continued on harder algebra problems and he was doing well with the advanced concepts. I'll send him practice problems to reinforce the concepts we went over today.

Tonight the student and I worked through her math. She received back a math test that we went over. Once we finished going over her test, she had other math homework where she had to construct her own bar graph. She constructed her own double-bar graph depicting boys and girls favorite food (soup, pizza, chicken, and spaghetti).

Since she did not have any homework we continued to review previous work she had done. I made a handout of different problems focusing on simplifying fractions, multiplying fractions, order of operations, and word problems involving order of operations. She seems to be remembering past concepts well and I am impressed with her ability to work through problems. She has shown considerable improvement since we began meeting.

Today we worked on fractions, computing decimals from mixed numbers and improper fractions. The student is extremely bright, willing to learn and it is always a pleasure to work with her. She asks a lot of questions and she is not afraid to be challenged.

We did test corrections on a test where she did very well. She mostly missed finding the measure of interior angles and finding the measure of angles that form a straight line. We practiced these until she could do them easily and accurately.

The student and I started with her grammar today. We did a grammar review in classifying sentences, which went fairly well. Then she had a grammar test in her book. She missed two points when she identified adverbs as adjectives instead. We went over why they were incorrect. Next, we worked on spelling. I gave her words from lists D & E, and she wrote 20 sentences with them to send to school. She also did G, Ii, Jj, and 0-9 x5 in cursive to send to school. I also had her count by 5s to 200 and introduced the tile game.
