About Bill Nye

Known worldwide as Bill Nye the Science Guy, Bill has combined his passions for technology and comedy to make science entertaining and accessible. The author of 8 children’s books, including his Great Big World of Science, he uses his platform to implore the youth of today to use science to solve the problems of tomorrow, including climate change, famine, and (ahem) pandemics. When he isn’t teaching science, he’s tinkering with it: he is the owner of several patents for innovations ranging from ballet shoes to baseball devices and a binary abacus, and the MarsDials sundials he co-created are currently roaming the landscape of Mars atop the Spirit and Opportunity rovers.

About the class

The most dangerous creatures in the world aren’t found lurking in the ocean or slithering along the jungle floor. In fact, they can’t be found at all without a microscope. Yep, we’re talking about germs and viruses. But as we’re still coping with COVID-19, science has never been clearer about why we get sick and how we can avoid it. Join Bill Nye for an interactive dissection of germs: how they “go viral,” what we have to do to protect against them, and why it’s in everyone’s best interest for everyone to be healthy.
