I'm a professional writer, editor, and journalist based in Seattle, Washington. I've spent most of that time writing for independent weekly newspapers, which is a lot like having an essay due every week. I'm sure you can relate!

I am passionate about the written word, and eager to use my ten plus years of experience creating and editing written content to help others improve their own work. As an editor, I try to avoid being harsh or overly critical, instead using errors or unclear sentences as an opportunity to really investigate and understand why the English-speaking community adheres to certain rules of grammar or style. I've particularly enjoyed mentoring younger journalists over my career, and feel most fulfilled when I see someone understand not only what the best way to say something is but also why. Now, I'm excited to help you become the best writer you can be!

I'm most passionate about essay editing -- taking your good ideas and helping you express them -- but can help with the generative writing process itself, reading comprehension, outlining, citations/sourcing, and anything else to do with writing, editing, or research. I'm eager to help you with everything from research papers to college admissions letters to random emails. If it's in English, I'm your guy.
