Certified Tutor
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science with emphases in mathematics and physics from the University of WisconsinEau Claire, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Iowa. My background has given me a strong foundation in problem solving and analytical thinking, which I love sharing with others.
I first discovered my passion for teaching while tutoring my younger siblings and later as a teaching assistant for two years in college. Those experiences showed me how rewarding it is to help students gain confidence and achieve their goals. I enjoy connecting with students, tailoring lessons to their interests, and creating example problems that make the material feel practical and relevant to their lives.
While I tutor a wide range of subjects, I focus primarily on STEM and writing. My favorite subjects to teach are math and physics, because I love recognizing patterns and guiding students through the problem-solving process. I aim to make these subjects approachable and even enjoyable by breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps and encouraging curiosity.
Outside of academia, I enjoy running, playing board games, making music, theater, and being involved in my church community. I bring this same energy and enthusiasm to tutoring, always striving to make learning a positive and meaningful experience.
