I hold a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on literacy. With over two years of tutoring experience and over nine years in the classroom, I specialize in English language arts, particularly British Literature, College English, Creative Writing, and essay editing. My teaching philosophy centers on building rapport with students, as I believe that genuine connections enhance their receptiveness to learning. I employ discussion-based methods to facilitate student-led exploration of writing concepts, encouraging them to embrace their identities as writers. I am passionate about helping students overcome their writing challenges, drawing from my own experience as a published author of three young adult novels. In addition to my teaching, I enjoy creative writing and have successfully initiated a creative writing program at my high school. I am excited to inspire students in their academic journey.
