Anamika: Norwalk tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm currently pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering at Columbia University. As a first-generation, low-income student, I know how crucial academic support can be. My public school education left gaps that made college-level engineering challenging, but tutoring and office hours helped me grow into a stronger student and problem-solver. That experience drives my passion for helping others succeed. I've worked with students of all agesfrom volunteering in after-school programs to tutoring peers in subjects like algebra, calculus, and college essay writing. I tutor math, physics, U.S. history, government, and essay writing. As an engineer, I am a bit partial to math (particularly algebra, pre-calc, calculus) and physics 1. My tutoring style is patient, interactive, and focused on helping students understand the "why," not just the "how."

Undergraduate Degree: Columbia University in the City of New York - Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering
Outside of school, I'm a bit of a city rat—I love exploring New York’s many cafés, parks, and neighborhoods. I'm a huge foodie, always on the hunt for new restaurants, cuisines, and cozy spots (I’m trying to keep up with Beli!). I also love to cook at home and am constantly trying out new recipes. I’d call myself a level 1 granola—casual but committed—I enjoy hiking and have served as a leader for Columbia's outdoor orientation program. I'm also a passionate multidisciplinary artist, working across film, photography, animation, painting, digital art, embroidery—you name it.
