Jazzlyn: Florissant tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm a certified ESL tutor with a background in international studies and a deep love for language learning. I earned my bachelor's degree in National Security and Foreign Affairs with a minor in Spanish, and I'm currently pursuing a master's in International Relations and Global Security. Through my own experience as a language learner, I've come to appreciate just how much a supportive guide can make all the difference.
Learning a new language can be overwhelming, especially without the right support. I understand how frustrating it feels to struggle with grammar rules, pronunciation, or confidence when speaking. That's why my goal as a tutor is to create a space where students feel encouraged, supported, and able to learn at their own pace.
I've worked with adult learners from all walks of life and know that every student's journey is unique. Whether we're focusing on conversation, grammar, reading, or writing, I tailor each lesson to fit your needs and goals. I love using visuals, real-life examples, and interactive practice to make learning feel practical and rewarding.
What I enjoy most is watching students grow more confident over time, especially when they start expressing themselves more freely in English. That moment when something finally "clicks" is what makes teaching so meaningful to me.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy studying languages myself, dancing, and exploring different cultures. I bring that same curiosity, energy, and care into every lesson.

Outside of tutoring, I love learning languages and exploring different cultures. Lately, I’ve been studying Mandarin and Korean, and I really enjoy finding connections between language, history, and daily life. Dance is another big passion of mine—especially Latin styles like salsa and bachata. It’s a fun way to stay active and express myself. I also enjoy reading, journaling, and discovering new music. Whether I’m traveling or just learning something new at home, I’m always looking for ways to grow and bring fresh energy into my teaching.
