Certified Tutor

I am a recent graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology and Biotechnology with distinction, along with a focus in cell and molecular biology. During my time at WPI, I was able to complete a research project abroad in Hong Kong SAR, developing an online interactive mapping tool to help educate businesses and the general public on Nature-based Solutions. I tutor a range of topics for many different grade levels, but I am most passionate about cell and molecular biology. I have worked as an undergraduate research assistant for three years, which has allowed me to gain an understanding of how what we learn in the classroom connects to real-life skills we learn in laboratory settings. I plan to incorporate this into my lessons, as I have found in my own experiences that I am able to learn content more effectively when I am able to apply my knowledge to something tangible. I also want to create a safe and comfortable learning environment for students. As someone who used to be nervous to reach out to my peers for academic help, I understand that it can be difficult to ask for help sometimes. Not only do I want the students I work with to gain a better understanding of class content, but I also want to help build their confidence in asking questions and engaging with lessons. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing guitar, walking and bike riding, and listening to music.
