I have been teaching chemistry for 7 years. I have taught undergraduate general and organic chemistry labs, recitations, and done high school and chemistry tutoring.
I completed my B.S. in chemistry at Stetson University. At Stetson, I assisted in general and organic chemistry labs for 3 years. This is where my passion for teaching began. After my first year of assisting in the labs, I signed up to be a TA for lecture as well for general and organic chemistry. This allowed me to work closely with students to ensure that they understood the class material, as well as provided me with excellent experience in catering to different learning styles. TAing at Stetson is still to this day my favorite teaching experience, and I still keep in contact with many of the students I tutored.
After graduating from Stetson, I began as a Ph.D. student at the University of Pittsburgh. At Pitt, I taught general and organic chemistry labs, organic chemistry recitation, and general and organic chemistry group and private tutoring. I also conducted organic chemistry research and mentored multiple undergraduate researchers. This gave me many different types of experiences and further improved my teaching skills.
Unfortunately, my daughter has some medical issues and I had to take a one-year leave of absence from Pitt, though I plan to return and complete my Ph.D. Due to my experience and passion for teaching, I am excited to now begin my journey tutoring and helping students on Varsity Tutors!
The subjects I teach are General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. I did minor in Mathematics at Stetson, so I also feel comfortable teaching algebra at a high school and college level.

As you can see from my profile picture, I am a big sports fan. I am a Miami Dolphins fan, despite the hardship they put me through. I also love photography. My favorite form of photography is just taking pictures of my wife and kids in our day-to-life and capturing those memories. My wife also loves photography so it is a really fun bonding activity! I have recently gotten into film photography. I just love the tactile and manual nature, as well as the chemical nature (it's so cool that you can capture light onto chemicals to produce an image!). I even develop my own film at home!
