Jenna: St. Charles tutor
Certified Tutor
I am passionate about helping students because I have seen how personalized support can boost confidence, spark curiosity, and change the course of someone's academic journey. With a background in psychology and a future goal of becoming a physician, I view education as a tool for empowerment. My experience includes serving as a youth development leader at the Boys and Girls Club, where I led academic and enrichment activities, and volunteering as an English teacher, where I work one-on-one with a student to build fluency through speaking, reading, and listening. I am currently pursuing a degree in psychology and plan to apply to medical school, driven by a passion for advocacy, mentorship, and community health. I tutor a variety of subjects, including English, writing, elementary biology, and elementary social sciences, with psychology being my favorite because of how it connects theory to real-life understanding. My tutoring style is patient, supportive, and adaptable, focused on creating a safe environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. Outside of academics, I enjoy volunteering, spending time with my family, and running a nonprofit I founded to address poverty and homelessness in northern Illinois. Helping others, whether in the classroom or the community, is a part of who I am.
