I am deeply passionate about helping students because I know how transformative the right support can be. I've seen students go from overwhelmed to confident, from disengaged to curious, simply by having someone believe in them and guide them at their own pace. I aim to create that experience for every learner I work with.

My experience with students spans both formal and informal settings. I've tutored in reading comprehension, math, and science, and I've also led peer study groups in college, where I focused on helping classmates break down complex material into manageable pieces. While I've worked with students of all ages, I especially enjoy working with middle school, high school, and early college students by helping them build not just knowledge but lasting confidence.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Gender Studies. I've also completed substantial coursework in Computer Science, and I am currently pursuing an Associate in Engineering Science with a computer science focus, as preparation for a graduate degree in computational neuroscience or neuroengineering.

I tutor a range of subjects, including math, reading, writing, biology, psychology, and computer science. My favorite subjects to tutor are reading comprehension and math. Reading comprehension empowers students across all disciplines, while algebra lays the groundwork for problem-solving in both math and real-world contexts. I love showing students how both subjects can feel less intimidating and even enjoyable when approached the right way.

My teaching philosophy centers on personalization, active engagement, and scaffolding. I believe that every student brings unique strengths and learning preferences, so I tailor my approach to meet them where they are. I also emphasize building on prior knowledge by using association and repetition to strengthen understanding and retention.

Outside of academics, I enjoy writing, reading poetry, and learning about new intersections between technology and the brain. I'm a lifelong learner and aim to inspire that same curiosity in my students.
