Certified Tutor
I still remember my first year of law schoolI was 21 or 22, sitting in an early morning class, already overwhelmed by dense readings, sleep deprivation, and the pressure of a demanding new environment. As is tradition in many law classrooms, the professor randomly called on students to analyze complex, obscure cases. That day, I was called on. Unprepared and caught off guard, I froze. In front of fifty of my peers, all I could manage was a hesitant, "I don't know."
That moment stayed with me, and it has shaped my entire approach to teaching. My goal is to make sure you never feel that kind of panic or isolation. My teaching philosophy is grounded in clarity, confidence, and compassion. I believe that if you truly understand something, you should be able to explain it to a five-year-oldand if you can't, that just means we have more work to do together. My role is to help you get there.
I earned my B.A. in Political Science and Africana Studies from the University of Rhode Island and my J.D. from Howard University School of Law. I plan to return to school in the future to pursue a Ph.D., because I'm passionate about lifelong learning and deep inquiry.
I bring a unique combination of academic training, real-world professional experience, and a student-first mindset to every tutoring session. While I tutor a range of subjects, I specialize in History, Politics, English, Writing, Reading, and Law. These subjects matter deeply to me, not just because they've been central to my education and career, but because I believe they are essential for understanding the world we live in today.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading fantasy novels, watching movies and TV shows, and spending time outdoors doing just about anything active.
