Artemis: Waterloo tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Arts and Entertainment Technologies, a program focused on game design and interactive media.
While I'm currently building a career in 3D modeling and digital illustration, I was previously an AP art student who won 6 VASE state competition medals and a national winner of the scholastic arts and writing awards for my paintings! I love teaching what I know to younger students and helping them succeed in their own creative endeavors, but am equally enthusiastic about teaching students my specialty: 2D animation, 3D modeling, and digital illustration. Through my studies, experience in creating games, and work in the entertainment industry, I have found that professionals often expect students to specialize early, which can be challenging for high school and early college students still exploring their interests. My goal is to support students in identifying their strengths, developing skills in industry standard software, and producing usable art assets for game engines like Construct 3, Unity, or Unreal Engine, so they can build strong, purposeful portfolios and resumes. I tailor each lesson to a student's learning style, whether they prefer structured instruction or hands-on project-based learning. I also provide additional learning resources for continued growth outside of sessions.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy growing herbs, running, and making handcrafted gifts for friends and family. I also love indie survival horror games and cozy multiplayer games with unique visual identities!
