Who's ready to learn?! I'm here to help you learn in a way that makes the most sense to you! I strive to meet students where they're at academically while actively engaging them in activities and lessons to solidify concept learning. I create a safe space where they can ask questions and have candid discussions to help them progress academically.

I am passionate about reading and writing and I have found that in my 13 years in education, that passion can be contagious. It's all about finding something to spark an interest.

Unlike many of my colleagues, I struggled on deciding what I wanted to be when I grew up. After attending college for business and marketing and then broadcasting communications, I finally, at a much older age decided upon teaching. I began my journey at Jamestown Community College in New York State earning an Associates degree in what was then called Teacher Transfer. From there I continued my education at SUNY Fredonia ultimately earning a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (PK-6) with minors in Mid-level English (grades 7-9), and Special Education (PK-12). A job offer in Pennsylvania quickly had me applying for a Pennsylvania teaching certificate and continuing my higher education at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where I earned a Master's degree in Education as a Reading Specialist. Always striving to learn, I began my pursuit in obtaining my Post Masters Certificate in Educational Leadership Supervisor of Special Education which I successfully earned from PennWest Edinboro.

While I enjoy every minute in my classroom, I also recognize that students need much more than a desk and a computer in their lives. And this is where the fun comes in! I am the Spelling Bee and Geography Bee Coordinator for our middle school, I am a Co-coordinator for the 7th grade filed trip to the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA, Art Club Coordinator, and finally the Co-coordinator for the annual 8th Grade Washington D.C. Field Trip. I have been active in my community serving on the Alumni Board and Little League Secretary.

I have two children of my own who are not nearly as spoiled as my two fur babies.
