Jessica: Palos Heights tutor
Certified Tutor
Hi! I'm Jessica, an experienced educator with 15 years of experience, a Ph.D., and a deep passion for helping students unlock their full potential. I specialize in working with diverse learners, including students with hearing loss, and I bring a warm, engaging, and highly individualized approach to every tutoring session. Whether we're working on foundational skills, preparing for a big test, or tackling advanced academic content, I focus on building confidence, fostering curiosity, and making learning meaningful.
With years of experience in both classroom and one-on-one settings, I'm skilled at adapting to different learning styles and creating customized plans that fit each student's goals and needs. My background includes early intervention, literacy instruction, academic writing, and test prep, and I'm comfortable supporting students from elementary through graduate school levels.
Above all, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging space where students feel empowered to ask questions, take risks, and grow. I look forward to helping you reach your goals and discover what you're truly capable of!

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy traveling, exploring new coffee shops, and spending time with my dog. I’m an avid reader—especially of contemporary fiction—and I love finding creative ways to bring storytelling and real-world connections into my teaching. I also enjoy cooking, attending local arts events, and going on long walks (especially when they end with a great view or a great snack!). These hobbies help me stay curious, balanced, and energized—qualities I bring into every tutoring session.
