I graduated Florida International University with a double Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Natural and Applied Sciences. Throughout my time in college, I focused on scientific research and environmental issues leading me to also minor in Environmental Studies and complete a certificate in Biodiversity Management and Conservation. During my time studying I developed a passion for education. I worked as a teaching assistant at the nonprofit ACHIEVE Miami, bringing music education to elementary schools as after school programs. I also have worked as an academic tutor at Accelerated Learning Services for the past two years, helping students from middle school to college better understand their course materials and improve their grades. My education and professional background allows me to feel comfortable teaching across a wide variety of subjects, from piano to psychology to calculus, but I am most passionate about tutoring science, and humanities subjects. I am very appreciative of how tutoring can help a student re-approach a subject and transform their understanding of a topic to become proficient in materials that were once challenging. I find a lot of fulfillment in tutoring due to these experiences where I've seen students go from having a lot of confusion about a class to feeling excited about their progress in that class. In my spare time, I enjoy running, reading, and playing instruments.
