Certified Tutor

I graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in English and a minor in journalism. I am currently certified to teach English grades 6-12, Reading k-12, ESL k-12, and gifted students k-12. Since graduation, I have taught English, journalism, and reading classes to 6th through12th grade students. I have taught at both public and private schools in middle and high school. During my 14-year career as a teacher, I have also taught English online to children living in Asia. I am currently working as an online reading specialist to elementary aged students in addition to working at Varsity Tutors. I believe that learning to read and write well should be paramount in any child's education. Every other skill branches out from this cornerstone. My most prized hobby is spending time with my husband and our three children (when they are home from college). I also have two dogs that keep me active. I enjoy working out, reading, and gardening.
