Certified Tutor

I first began tutoring as a sophomore in high school. Since then, I have gradually expanded my expertise to include a wide range of subjects. I'm currently approved to tutor in over 25 areas including:

Math: Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Calculus 2, and SAT Math
Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and Grade 12 Chemistry
Advanced Placement: AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Psychology, AP Biology, and AP Chemistry
College Preparation: SAT (full test), SAT Writing and Language, College Application Essays, and Admissions assistance
Social Sciences: Psychology, Psychologies, and Social Sciences
Test Prep and other general subjects

As I enter my fourth year of tutoring, I have learned that different tutees have different learning styles, and more often than not, figuring out how to approach problems and link concepts together is usually the key, rather than rote memorization. This approach not only helps my tutees solidify concepts better but also promotes long-term understanding (both conceptually and in application), while making learning less repetitive and dull. As a first-generation, low-income student myself, I had to figure out how education and learning styles work largely on my own; I hope to help others do the same.
