Gena: Burr Ridge tutor
Certified Tutor
I hold a Master's degree in Information Technology with a minor in Project Management from American InterContinental University and a Bachelor's in Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University. My journey has taken me across the United States, starting in California and Nevada before relocating to Flint, Michigan, in the early 1990s. There, I worked at the University of Michigan, Flint, for four years.
From 2011 to 2012, I contributed as a part-time tutor for several organizations in California approved under the "No Child Left Behind" program. My role as an independent contractor and Expert Tutor for one-on-one Academic Tutors involved empowering students through personalized education and collaborating as part of a team dedicated to advocacy. Together, our strategic focus included:
Helping students improve test scores and achieve academic goals.
Encouraging lifelong learning skills and attitudes. Empowering parents to support and educate their children at home.
I firmly believe that personalized education has the transformative power to open doors and change students' educational paths. This holistic approach drives my commitment to academic assistance.
I recently obtained my PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification from PMI, the Project Management Institute, Inc (PMI).

My passions include training and exploring Project Management, AI, English, and Writing materials. As a Project Management Professional (PMP), I consistently strive to keep my knowledge current. One of my most fulfilling experiences has been helping students prepare for standardized tests, particularly the Critical Reading and Writing sections. I've witnessed remarkable progress and had the most fun. I firmly advocate education as a cornerstone for improving quality of life and aim to instill this belief in my students. Beyond my professional endeavors, I enjoy reading enriching literature, practicing yoga, walking, gardening, traveling, and spending quality time with my family.
