Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Washington State University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a secondary major in History. Since graduating, I have worked in a variety of industries, from Law to Environmental Testing. I have finally landed in K-6 education as a Building Substitute Teacher. Many of my close family members have worked in education, which has always drawn me to teaching! I am working toward my Master's in Teaching with an endorsement in Secondary Social Studies.
I teach ELA, Math, and Social Studies to all grade levels K-6. I have a particular interest in upper Elementary ELA, Math, and Social Studies. Additionally, I enjoy History and Civics at the High School Level, as I aspire to teach those subjects in my career.
I believe that education is paramount. The values of critical thinking and problem-solving are nurtured by education and learning - in all capacities. Learning and education take place at all times, we are constantly learning and gaining new information. Additionally, we all learn in our own, unique way. One of the most rewarding things I have experienced in education has been seeing the light bulb moment on a student's face when a concept clicks for them, whether after the initial lesson or additional one-on-one or small group work.
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my dog and cat, cooking, reading, and crocheting.
