As a dedicated educator with a Master's in Guidance, Special Education, and Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University, I bring over twenty-five years of experience in teaching, two years of tutoring experience and a passion for fostering student success. My journey began with personal challenges, having overcome a severe language disorder as a child, which ignited my desire to support and empower students facing their own obstacles. I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including those in regular education, special education, substance abuse clinics, and mental health settings. My approach to tutoring focuses on building genuine relationships that promote trust and open communication, allowing me to tailor lessons to meet each student's unique needs. I am committed to empowering all learners, particularly those in transitional phases, from school aged students facing challenges progressing from grade to grade, those seeking Adult Literacy and to others such as police academy cadets, by equipping them with essential skills for both academic success and effective community interaction. Through individualized instruction and a commitment to creating a supportive learning environment, I strive to help all students recognize and unlock their full potential.
