Nathan: Suffolk County tutor
Certified Tutor
I hold a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biophysics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and have spent the last several years immersed in academic research and higher education. My passion for tutoring stems from the joy I find in helping students gain confidence in challenging subjects, especially when they discover their own ability to solve complex problems. I know from both experience and observation that a great tutor can make a lasting impact on a student's academic journey, and I strive to be that person for every student I meet.
Throughout my graduate studies, I served as a teaching assistant in courses such as Introductory Biology, Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry. I also worked extensively as a peer tutor and supplemental instructor in Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, and Immunology. These roles allowed me to guide students from a wide range of backgrounds and learning styles. I tailor each session to meet students where they are, using curiosity, encouragement, and clear communication to break down difficult concepts into manageable pieces.
I specialize in tutoring Biology, Biochemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry, and related sciences. I especially enjoy teaching molecular biology and human anatomy because they connect abstract scientific concepts to real-world understanding of the human body and health. My tutoring style is warm, collaborative, and focused on building strong foundations. I believe in creating a learning environment where students feel heard, supported, and capable of reaching their goals. Outside of academia, I enjoy reading, creative writing, exploring nature, and staying active.
