I am a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University where I majored in philosophy with a minor in linguistics. Philosophy taught me the value of critical and analytic thinking. After graduation I was hired as a computer programmer at an insurance company.
I first did programming in COBOL. Then I got a job at Motorola and worked there for 27 years. At Motorola they trained us in all the latest languages and systems. I learned data modeling and data architecture. While working for Motorola I graduated from University of Phoenix with a Master's of Science in Computer Information Systems (CIS).
After Motorola I formed my own consulting company and consulted for several global manufacturing companies. My last job was working for General Motors as a Senior Data Architect where I developed a Data Governance program training data stewards and business analysts.
I'm excited to share my experience as a data architect and IT professional with people who want to learn new skills. My teaching philosophy is to instill a passion for learning in each student. This means I will convey my excitement thru the learning platform. I will explain the learning lessons in words and examples the student can relate to.
My hobbies are hiking and biking and writing. I've written three books on IT topics that are self-published on Amazon.
