When I was a student, I struggled in elementary school. Through perseverance and interaction with caring individuals, I was able to adapt to different classroom environments and go from struggling to excelling. I loved learning so much that I decided to become a teacher in my favorite subject, English. I hold a bachelor's degree in secondary education and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction. I hope to instill in my students a motivation to learn and reach their full potential.
I have spent nearly two decades teaching English in high school, as well as 5 years tutoring various English skills (e.g. reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, essay writing, creative writing, ACT prep, etc.) to upper elementary, middle school, high school, and college students. I am also ESL certified in order to help English language learners.
I aim to customize each tutoring experience based on a student's needs and interests. As long as you are willing to learn, I am willing to help!

In my spare time, I read mostly mysteries, listen to true crime and horror podcasts, create scrapbooks, and play games with my family (e.g. Clue, Phasmophobia, UNO, World of Warcraft, etc.)
