Gayle: Windsor tutor
Certified Tutor
I hold degrees from Columbia (M.A. in Teaching English), and NYU (B.A. in Journalism), and spent two years at Boston University's School for the Arts. I'm passionate about literature and writing and have taught writing to teenagers and adults.
My career includes 30 years at HBO as a Training Manager, where I honed my skills in adult teaching and coaching. I've taught communication, sales, and presentation skills, but my sweet spot is helping young adults, particularly in career coaching. Currently, I teach playwriting in an inner-city after-school program called The Manton Ave Project in Providence, RI. I previously taught playwriting with kids from Hell's Kitchen in NYC with The 52nd Street Project, always starting with 10-minute plays and building from there.
As a produced playwright and actor, my work has been featured in NYC, Boston, and Rhode Island. I'm also a founding member of WOMENSWORK, a RI-based theatre company.
I love to travel. Last year, I explored Southern Italy, and in 2025, I'm off to Portugal and a cruise through Central Europe, with extra time in Budapest and Prague.
Since retiring from HBO in 2019, I've become a professional life, career, and executive coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation. More about my coaching work can be found at Gayle Hanrahan Coaching.
I love golf, the beach, and my feline administrative assistant who keeps me company in my home office in Southern Rhode Island, near the lovely Newport resort area. I'm married with two wonderful adult stepsons.
