My journey towards becoming an educator has been deeply rooted in a belief that all children, regardless of their background or circumstances, possess an innate capacity to learn and thrive. This belief was ignited during my undergraduate studies in Sociology, where I focused on child welfare and witnessed firsthand the resilience and potential of young people facing adversity. It was further solidified during my Master's of Education program, where I specialized in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on trauma-informed practices. This training equipped me with the understanding and tools to create safe, supportive, and engaging learning environments that cater to the diverse needs of every student.

My passion for education extends beyond borders, fueled by my TEFL certification and a desire to empower students through language acquisition. I am particularly drawn to ESL instruction, elementary phonics, reading, and math, as these foundational skills unlock a world of opportunities for young learners. I believe in a student-centered approach that recognizes and celebrates individual learning styles. Whether a child is a visual learner who thrives on diagrams and imagery, an auditory learner who benefits from songs and rhymes, or a kinesthetic learner who engages through hands-on activities, I am committed to adapting my teaching style to meet their unique needs.

My philosophy for teaching is grounded in fostering a growth mindset, where students are encouraged to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and persevere with confidence. I aim to create a collaborative and joyful learning space where curiosity is nurtured, critical thinking is encouraged, and every child feels valued and respected.

While my academic pursuits are central to my identity, I also find fulfillment in exploring the world beyond the classroom. I am an avid hiker who finds solace in nature, a dedicated volunteer committed to serving my community, and a movie enthusiast who appreciates the power of storytelling. These experiences enrich my perspective and allow me to connect with students on a personal level.
