My name is Zidi Zhu, and I am an enthusiastic teacher specializing in Mandarin. Having grown up in China, Mandarin is my native language, and my educational journey spans both China and the US. I hold a Bachelor of Management in Business Administration from China, and I earned my MBA with a concentration in Information Systems and Business Analytics from the US. This unique combination of experiences, alongside my personal journey of learning English through an Intensive English Program in a US university, allows me to bring a well-rounded perspective to my students.
As someone who knows firsthand the challenges of mastering a second language, I understand how difficult it can be, especially for those who don't consider themselves naturally gifted at language acquisition. My own experience learning English has made me a patient and empathetic teacher. I believe that language learning is a gradual process, and I focus on helping my students build their skills step by step. Each small victory counts, and I aim to provide practical strategies that make learning Mandarin accessible and enjoyable.
In my previous roles, including my work as a flight attendant at Air China, I developed strong communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly the skills I now apply in my teaching. Additionally, my professional background in business and administration, from working with senior executives to handling cross-cultural communication, has equipped me with the organizational skills needed to manage a classroom effectively.
