After 25 years as an award winning educator in Long Beach, CA, I am delighted to be able tutor students from my home. I am passionate about teaching children (PK-5) to excel in their reading and writing skills. While live in the classroom, i can proudly say that all of the students in my 1st and 2nd grade classrooms, left my class reading at or above grade level. During my tenure as an educator, I also trained new and experienced teachers in curriculum, classroom management and lesson design. After retiring, I started my own book publishing company - inspiring children to write their own books. During the pandemic, I taught a variety of classes on OutSchool - ranging from individual tutoring to group classes in Kindergarten Math to Art classes - imitating the masters. As well, I have tutored dozens of k-5 students in my home, over the years. I believe the essence of teaching is to inspire students to become lifelong learners, unstoppable in their quest to be their best selves, and excited to overcome the challenges that life brings. In my spare time, I love to cook, travel the world, and spend time with family and friends.
