Certified Tutor

I recently graduated from Tampa Preparatory School and would love to share my knowledge with you all! As a former volunteer tutor at my school, I've been fortunate enough to work one on one with a range of middle school students on different levels of mathematics. I'm also an English tutor, but have found that many students tend to need more math help. I use a demonstrative "show, not tell" approach to tutoring, guiding my students to concepts and correct answers by building off their intelligence. I often incorporate real-life examples to keep the sessions relevant. I ask them questions to help answer theirs. Regardless of whether I'm working on reading comprehension or algebra with a student, I have always approached tutoring with patience and enthusiasm.

I believe that being a tutor goes beyond simply teaching the subject matter. You have to commit to building a good relationship with your students and understanding their learning style. I love creating a safe environment for my students, one where they feel comfortable asking questions and problem solving together.

Tutoring has allowed me to witness the effect of personalized attention and instruction. I've seen students grow in confidence and improve their grades within a matter of weeks.
