I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

Hello my name is Kobe and I currently live between Denton and Fort Worth Texas. I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2023 with two bachelor's degrees: French and Linguistics. I am currently working on my Master's in French with the goal of becoming a high school French teacher. I love teaching so much! I tutored for UNT's world languages department for two years before becoming a TA, which is where I interacted with many students with different learning styles including ESL students. I mostly have experience teaching and tutoring French, however I am also natively fluent in Spanish and have experience teaching it in informal settings. Contrary to my language heavy tutoring experience, I also love a variety of different subjects such as math and science. Because my siblings and I have a very large age difference (10 and 14 years respectively) and they tend to struggle in school, I have served as their primary tutor for the past couple of years. Funnily enough, it wasn't really my choice to help them with their homework in the beginning, but I quickly learned that it was a lot of fun to help them out. Plus, my relationship with them grew stronger, as helping them with homework turned into time that we enjoyed spending together.

My cumulative experience as a student and educator led me to develop the belief that learning and teaching are an integral part of the human experience as we transmit our knowledge from one generation to another. I hope to continue this tradition by making learning as fun as can be during our lessons. See you soon!

Hobbies

Some of my hobbies include reading, anything Pokémon, cooking, and baking. I love learning about different cultures through food which is why I am always trying out different recipes to give to my friends to try. I always make sure that my friends are well fed. I also have a hamster friend called Chou who I love very much (he is very fluffy). Some of his favorite foods include sunflower seeds, a cold thin slice of cucumber, and mealworms!
