Certified Tutor

Hi! My name is Jeff, and I am a dedicated high school physics teacher with a love for learning and teaching physics. I am licensed to teach all sciences in the state of North Carolina. With nine years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of guiding over 1000 students over the years through the complexities of physics and chemistry, helping them develop a deep understanding and appreciation for the subjects both in concepts and in mastering the mathematics. I strive to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment where students feel motivated to explore and excel.

My academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Physics with a mathematics minor from the University of North Texas, where I graduated with a GPA of 3.9. Throughout my time in college, I was fortunate to receive several scholarships that helped me finance my education. I also was hired by the university to tutor physics students while I was in my junior and senior years. In total, I have been tutoring for 12 years, and have worked with a broad group of people with different learning styles and have the ability to tailor my teaching methods to meet individual student needs.

In my classroom, I emphasize using real-world examples, modeling, critical thinking, problem-solving, and the technological applications of physics concepts. I believe that teaching is not just about imparting knowledge but also about inspiring curiosity and a love for learning. Outside of teaching, I enjoy staying current with the latest developments in science and education, often incorporating new discoveries and technologies into my lessons (recently on color, and acceleration in general relativity). I am committed to fostering a supportive and stimulating environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.
