Certified Tutor

I am a veteran teacher who has taught in a public high school in New York for over 30 years. I am certified in ELA (grades 9-12), Social Studies (grades 7-12) and ESL (grades K-12). I also have my Bilingual Spanish Extension. I have worked with students from all over the world and am proud of each and every one of my students. As a bilingual and biliterate individual myself, I appreciate and value different cultures and backgrounds. As a lover of language, nothing gives me greater joy than watching one of my students come to enjoy the nuances of their second language, be it Spanish, English or another dialectical variation. I am tutor a broad range of subjects, however, I am most passionate about ESL, Literature, and Spanish. My expertise is working with struggling students, helping them put the building blocks together in order to see the bigger picture. I am a firm proponent of education for all, believing that all students can learn with the appropriate individual strategies that work for them, and I try to impart these specified learning methods to all of my students. As a mom of twin girls myself, I know that each and every child is a unique gift and should be treated as such.
