While I was at the university of Indianapolis for my degree in Fine Arts, I took an internship at the George Washington High school close by the college. It was there I realized that I loved to help students. Often the students did not feel confident they were able to succeed. I lifted their spirts and got them to believe in themselves. I realized that I wanted to help people understand that even if they struggle at first, they can succeed if they keep confidence in their abilities. I always remain calm if they struggle and i do not give up on them. I never want a kid to feel doubtful in their capabilities. My strongest areas of subject is reading, writing, and earth science. I can help in basic math such as addition, subtraction, fractions, division, and multiplication.I can also help with algebra. Because everyone learns differently be it through hands on activities, through audio, or through visual aids, I use all three teaching methods in my lesson if possible. If we are starting a new book for english, I will have us utilize a channel on youtube that provides non spoiled summaries of books. I will then have us read out loud with an audio book. I will have us take annotated notes since my college professors mentioned that the best way to remember is by writing it down, a method I like to pass on to my students. When I am not teaching, I like to catch up on classic novels.
