Emma: Salford tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a third year student at Indiana University, studying a pre-law major. I began tutoring elementary school kids and mentoring middle school kids in my school district. I was a tutor throughout high school and worked with kids freshman-senior year. I graduated high school Summa Cum Laude and maintain a 4.0 in college.
As a tutor and somebody who values education, I am constantly looking for opportunities to involve students in learning and find their passions with school. As a Political Science major in college, I am experienced and passionate about the study of history, government, and politics. I have grown to learn in different ways and how to pass that knowledge to others who might struggle to find their learning styles.
As a young adult, I feel that working with kids who may not be comfortable in a classroom environment is easier when they are communicating with an experienced student still in school. I have dealt with students that struggle to learn because of ADHD, and have developed methods that work best for some who don't find interest in school. I am dedicated to nurturing essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication.
Teaching is about patience, enthusiasm, and understanding for students, and I strive to make these connections educational and motivated.

If I have a free moment, I am reading. I love classic literature and war novels, and I think they really connect with my interests in school. I am a third year student with IU and I am thrilled to be taking classes that excite and interest me. Most of my time is spent with my friends, playing the Wii and some pickup games of beach volleyball.
