Hello learners and families! I am a pre-service teacher studying Middle Childhood Education in Cleveland, Ohio. As a neurodivergent learner myself, I am especially motivated to help neurodiverse students achieve academically, outside of the traditional classroom.
My approach to education is to actively engage my learner, develop a collaborative relationship, set appropriate goals, encourage self-efficacy and achievement, and make this whole process of learning fun AND motivating. I can't wait to meet you!
My experience as an educator is extensive. I currently tutor math and language arts at an elementary school. I also have recent experience tutoring middle schoolers and even leading an outdoor summer camp! I taught awesome 5th graders during my teaching internship, tutored newcomer ESL students in grades 1-8, and tutored teen and adult learners in a GED prep and ESL program. These professional experiences have given me opportunities to lead whole-class, small group and individual learning activities.
My subject strengths are science, English literature, reading, writing, and mathematics, but I love a challenge --- and learning alongside my students --- so I can adapt to tutor many more subjects.
