I earned my Master's degree in Reading literacy and Bachelor's degree in K-12 at Jackson State University, as well as my Associate's degree in Business Administration at Hinds Community College. I am a lover of education, and especially passionate about reading literacy. I started my Doctorate, but unfortunately had to put it on hold.

I consider myself a servant leader in the educational arena as I have served in multiple capacities such as PTA President (Parent Teacher Association), academic classroom teacher, Lead Teacher, and Interventionist. I have taught a plethora of grade levels such as 1st, 4th, 5th, 8th grade, and High Schoolers. From reading literacy, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and College and Career Readiness, I have come to understand that students tend to struggle with similar foundational skills missed in the early years. Therefore, I started a tutoring service where my mandate, mission, and passion are the following:

*strengthening the foundation of the fundamentals in reading,
*bridging the gap in reading,
*and making reading fun again

I have never worked with students I have not been able to grow and make it to their next grade level successfully. I am confident that with my gifts for teaching reading literacy and encouragement, and your consistency, we will make great progress!

Currently, I facilitate a virtual small group meeting for women to empower them to become everything God has created them to become.

My tutoring style is simple. I believe if I meet the students where they are, come alongside them and support them with bite-sized lessons they can digest well, and undergird them with encouragement, with consistency, they will excel over time.

I teach effective test-taking strategies for standardized testing also which has always contributed to my success rate.

Because of my ability to break down overwhelming information into small chunks by creating charts, bullet points, timelines, and bubble maps, I have helped a client in the insurance industry as well to work on obtaining her securities license.
Therefore, if you need help in an area I have never tutored before, I am usually willing to try to assist you to the very best of my ability.
