Certified Tutor

I am currently a freshman at NYU, and am looking to major in journalism. My past experience with tutoring includes helping kids from grades 4-5 with ELA for a school volunteer organization, and I earned 43 hours of community service in doing so. These experiences I had were truly rewarding and helped me to discover my passion for helping students. I loved seeing those I tutored improve as a result of the time I spent with them. Additionally, the experience helped me and continues to help me better understand my strengths and how I can become a better teacher as a whole.

In terms of my favorite subjects to tutor, I would have to say that it is art history. I have come to realize that I cannot even look at an old building without launching into a full-blown lecture! If anything, I think these impromptu mini-lessons represent my genuine passion for not only teaching, but teaching others about what I love.
