Certified Tutor

I am a proud graduate of both The University of South Alabama and The University of West Alabama. I received a Bachelors degree in Collaborative Special Education from USA. At UWA, I received a Masters in Education. In my 18 years of teaching, I have taught secondary math inclusion, math intervention, have been a library media specialist, math tutor, and currently coach an elementary math team. My passion is in teaching, coaching, and tutoring math in grades three through six. I am also an avid reader and love sharing that love of reading with my students in my library. I have won teacher of the year as a middle school special education teacher in 2010-2011 and again as a library media specialist in 2017-2018. I am proud to have won teacher of the year twice in my career. As an after school tutor for a private company, I worked one-on-one and in small groups teaching math using many different strategies to improve student learning. I believe learning should, not only be fun, but meaningful. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my three daughters and my husband traveling.
